Indonesian FA Plans to Lodge Complaint with FIFA Against Refereeing Team in First Match Against Qatar U23
In the opening round of the AFC U23 Asian Cup, Indonesia U23 suffered a 0-2 defeat to Qatar U23 with only nine players on the field, sparking outrage from Indonesian U23 head coach Shin Tae-yong towards the referees.
According to interviews conducted by South Korean media with Shin Tae-yong, he stated that the Indonesian FA is preparing to lodge a complaint with FIFA against the refereeing team in the first match against Qatar U23.
Shin Tae-yong remarked after the match, "In fact, regardless of whether the match was held in Qatar's home stadium, such a match should not have happened, that's my opinion. Yesterday, it took us only 7 minutes from the hotel to the match venue. However, on the day of the match, the refereeing team made our bus take a detour, and it took us 25 minutes to reach the match venue. For the refereeing team to make such ridiculous actions, I think this match is not a football match, but more like a comedy show in the community. Even giving an advantage to the home team, this is too much."
"Regarding the content of the match, I have nothing to say, it's too unfair (Indonesia U23 had two players sent off during the match, ending in a 0-2 loss to Qatar U23). I hope such matches will not happen again in future AFC competitions, so that Asian football can progress."
